Welcome Home Grandma and Grandpa Elmer

My parents are finally home from their 3rd mission! What a great example of selfless service they have been to our famlee. They served their first mission in Nairobi Kenya and the last two have been at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are excited to have them home but also sad because now when we visit Utah, we have no place to stay! Dad said that they are done with missions, but we will see what happens after they have been home for awhile and start to get bored again. Afterall, all the grandbabies are here in Gilbert and they live in Safford! Although, they were so excited to come home to their new temple, The Gila Valley Temple. They enjoy just driving to town to attend instead of driving 3 hours over here to our Mesa temple.

They have two new great grandbabies to get acquainted with! They were born the year they were in Salt Lake.

Great Grandma playing with Merek!

Great Grandma and Grandpa lovin a little on Harper!

OUR new temple!

Saturday, November 13, 2010 was a very special day. Special is a word that doesn't even do it justice. Our little town, GILBERT, is getting its very own temple! We as a famlee are so thrilled. We have always taken great pride in our Mesa temple! This is where our famlee began in 1980. It is only a 20 minute drive into Mesa but when this temple is finished we will only be 5 - 7 minutes away! Two years will not come fast enough! I only hope that Branden and Donivan will always remember this day and prepare themselves to enter into this sacred house!
Scanning the crowd just to show how many people came. Tessa said that she heard that 81,000 people participated. Some choose not to fight the crowd and went to a stake center where it was broadcast.

From left to right, Kyle Jones, (went to school with him) from Mesa, John Lewis, our dear friend of many years, now serving as the Gilbert Mayor, Elder Acosta, Chuck Gray and Elder Walker take the first scoops of dirt.

Sugarplums

Its that time of year again when Jenna sponsors her boutique that I think is the best in the east valley. Not only do I get to pride myself in the fact that she is one talented lady but she is so good to me and allows me to be part of it! This year she had over 40 vendors that participated.

I have been busy sewing and baking. I made 28 scripture tote bags, 4 grocery cart covers, 10 infant seat carrier covers and 4 blankets. Daily I have baked and baked and baked. My white dinner rolls have been a BIG hit as well as lots of different flavors of sweet bread (pumpkin, pumpkin nut, pumpkin choc chip, banana and banana nut).
Braxton and Merek have been keeping me company during the day which always puts an extra smile on my face! We even had a sleep over one night which thrilled Branden and Donivan!

Mark was home to help out on Thursday. I was slaving away in the kitchen and this is his favorite way to babysit! Afterall, its a tough job being the best grandpa in the whole world!

I just LOVE these two!

Rachelle drove up to Flagstaff this weekend to hang out with Ryan. They went hiking and had a great time! I LOVE it when my kids hang out together!
